Job Title: Director of Development

Organization Overview: Douglas County Community Foundation (DCCF) provides leadership and responsible stewardship of philanthropic resources to enrich the lives of every resident in Douglas County.  We are committed to responsibly managing philanthropic contributions, maintaining agile funds for emergencies, inspiring generosity, and providing support to local nonprofit organizations serving the needs within our community.

Position Overview: The Director of Development will be responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive fundraising portfolio that includes individual donors, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director, Development Committee, and Board of Directors to develop fundraising goals and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Board of Directors, Development Committee, and Executive Director to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization’s annual revenue goals, with a current budget of $1.3 million.
  • Identify and cultivate individual and corporate donors.
  • Identify and cultivate foundation funders, managing the grant process including writing proposals and follow-up reporting.
  • Plan and execute special donor events to engage potential individual and corporate donors to raise funds for the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Committee to develop and execute effective donor communications and marketing materials.
  • Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or related field, with a proven track record of success in partnerships, corporate and foundation giving, and special events.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling donor communications and marketing materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, Board members, and volunteers.
  • Ability to work remotely, while building relationships in the Douglas County community.
  • Experience with fundraising software and donor databases is preferred.
  • A deep commitment to the mission and values of our DCCF.

Salary & Benefits:
This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $65,000 to $90,000 per year plus performance-based bonus potential.  Benefits include:

  • Eligible for medical insurance.  DCCF covers 75% of employee health insurance.

  • Paid vacation (two weeks)
